Daniel is a fighter pilot in the RAAF. Sarah-Jane wanted to BE a fighter pilot in the RAAF. A work friend introduced her to Daniel’s sister, who introduced her to Daniel. They met when he invited Sarah-Jane to Williamtown to attend an open day and see the jets.
Daniel proposed at their home in Newcastle. An hour later he received a phone call telling him to go to Afghanistan the next day, for a 6 month deployment.
The most beautiful dress ever made – ivory, strapless bodice with Swarovski crystals, lace up back, flowing out to layers of taffeta and tulle, with a train.
The minister was the minister from the school that Sarah-Jane attended, this was a coincidence as the school was in Roseville, NSW . Mark relocated to Noosa for a sea change. It was a lovely, relaxed ceremony, with readings from close friends and hymns. Sarah-Janes father gave her away.
It was perfect! The location was meters from the sand of Noosa main beach, the restaurant opened out onto the beach making the perfect back drop. Everyone commented on how great the night was, perfect food (including fresh seafood), great wine, fantastic band, delicious cake!
That’s a tie between our first dance – I’ve had the time of my life – dirty dancing style, complete with lifts! A dream come true for the bride, and having photos with our beloved dog Wiggles who was 15. Sadly she passed away a few months later. Having her with us and in our photos is priceless.

Our photographer, Thierry Boudan photography. We looked at many photographers , initially in QLD, and could not find one that had the wow factor. Photography was a very important element for us, we wanted to have an album that was so fantastic, that we loved so much and could look back on and forever be reminded of our special day. The location we were in, Noosa, is so beautiful, we wanted to make sure to capture the beauty of the area as well as the feeling and emotion of the day. We saw Thierry’s display at the Newcastle Bridal Expo and were instantly drawn to his work. We decided to fly Thierry up to Noosa to shoot our wedding. It was one of the best decisions we made. Thierry and Wayne were amazing and our album is absolutely stunning – we could not be happier. As well as taking amazing photos, they were professional, friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we got the best wedding photos possible. The panoramic beach shots are absolutely breathtaking ! The only difficulty is choosing which ones to hang on our wall.
We subscribed to a variety of wedding planner websites, and red numerous wedding magazines (probably everyone ever printed). I found my dress in the first magazine I bought, I knew before I even tried it on that it was the one.
Almost all our guests had to travel to Noosa for the wedding, they stayed in a variety of hotels in and around Hastings street
The one hiccup occurred a week before the wedding. We had packed our car to the roof (literally), including wedding dress, dog, racing bike and triathlon gear (Sarah-Jane raced in the Noosa Triathlon on the Sunday before the wedding). We arrived in Noosa on the Sataurday afternoon and pulled up out the front of the house we had rented for the week. There was already a car in the driveway which struck us as odd. We called the agent and re informed that our booking commenced the following day , Sunday at 2pm. Being the night before the Noosa triathlon, there was no accommodation available, especially for a dog. So we had to drive back down the coast and stay with family in the rumpus room. Then make the early morning trip back to Noosa early in the morning for the race start. When we finally got into our house the following day it was well worth it. It was a beautiful renovated Queenslander with a pool which we cooled off in with a few drinks.
