Lake Macquarie Yacht Club wedding

When your wedding backdrop is a sparkling lake, a gentle sea breeze, and a yacht or two drifting by, you know you’re in for something special. That’s exactly what unfolded at Lake Macquarie Yacht Club in Belmont, where love, laughter, and a hint of salty air made the day unforgettable.

From the moment I arrived, the vibe was pure “good times only”. The bridal party were absolute legends — cracking jokes, helping each other with last-minute details, and maybe sneaking in a quick champagne toast before the aisle moment.

The Ceremony with a View

The ceremony took place right by the water’s edge. Guests had front-row seats to not just the vows, but the shimmering reflections of the lake stretching out behind them. The sound of the water gently lapping against the dock set the most relaxed atmosphere — no stress, just pure joy.

Yacht Club Magic

One of my favourite parts of shooting here is how versatile the location is. Within minutes, we went from romantic shots on the boardwalk to fun group photos by the yachts, and then snuck off for a few golden hour portraits that had the lake glowing like liquid gold.

Dance Floor Legends

Once the sun dipped, the reception kicked into high gear. The Yacht Club’s event space lit up beautifully, with guests laughing, dancing, and completely ignoring the “dance floor” boundaries. From heartfelt speeches to epic dance moves that should probably stay off TikTok (but we got the shots anyway), it was the perfect ending to an epic day.
