A quiet way to remember the yes
Most proposals I shoot stay between us until after you've asked. You tell me the place, the rough time and how you want it to feel. I stay out of sight until the moment, then step in for the hug, the ring, and the walk that follows.
I'm a proposal photographer in Newcastle and a surprise proposal photographer across the Hunter Valley. I also shoot engagement sessions in Newcastle and Port Stephens when you want portraits after the ask — same day or another afternoon, whichever suits you.
How it works
We plan in private. You share the location, the cover story and anything I need to know (where you'll kneel, which path you'll walk, who else is in on it). I keep the details off social media and out of the way of the person you're asking.
I hide, then shoot. On the day I arrive early, find a spot that doesn't give the game away, and wait. When you get down on one knee, I'm already framed. After the yes, we move into the natural stuff — the embrace, the ring on the hand, a few minutes of walking and laughing while it sinks in.
A few favourites, then the full set. When it suits, I can send a few favourites the same day so you have something to share. Your full gallery follows once I've finished editing. No pressure either way — some people want a quiet night first, and that's fine.
Then we talk about what's next. Plenty of couples book a short engagement session while the ring is still new. Others just want the proposal photos. Either is a good outcome.
Where I shoot
I cover Newcastle, the Hunter Valley, Port Stephens and the Central Coast. Favourite kinds of spots for a surprise proposal: harbour foreshores, quiet park paths, lookouts at golden hour, beach walks with an easy exit if you want privacy after, and vineyard lawns when you've booked a table nearby.
There's no travel fee for proposals in Newcastle, the Hunter Valley or Port Stephens. Further afield on the Central Coast, or anywhere that needs an overnight, we work it out when you enquire.
